ATG launched sports and casino with us.

ATG wanted to offer more than harness and flat racing. We provided UX design, developers and a scrum master, and on 1 January 2019 sports and casino went live.

The challenge

ATG is one of Sweden's largest companies in harness and flat racing, and all its surplus goes back to Swedish horse sport. Sports and casino had to be built by many teams, in a large codebase, under strict rules and to a fixed launch date. The new part had to feel like a natural part of ATG, next to the racing.

What we did

  • UX design

We designed the sports and casino section so it fits with the rest of ATG, together with ATG's own designers.

  • Development

Our developers worked on site in ATG's codebase, built new features like popular matches, and cut load times.

  • Scrum master

Our scrum master coordinated the teams and introduced sprints, retros, daily stand-ups and digital planning instead of whiteboards.

  • Test automation

We built automated tests, so every change could be reviewed faster and with fewer manual steps.

The result

Most important, sports and casino went live on time. But the wins didn't stop there.

The wins for ATG

  • A new business area, launched on the set date.
  • Faster pages thanks to fewer network requests.
  • Lower running costs as images and media upload to the cloud automatically.
  • Fewer manual tests thanks to test automation.
  • A way of working with sprints and digital planning that the teams kept.
  • Changes for new rules during the pandemic, in place quickly.
  • The collaboration continued after launch, with the sports pages, the app and a new back office.
